The BSCS Center for Professional Development specializes in supporting the implementation of inquiry-based instructional materials in all science disciplines, K-12—from selecting high-quality
instructional materials to designing support systems for long-term sustainability.
The BSCS Center for Research and Evaluation designs and conducts research and evaluation studies that contribute to the knowledge base of curriculum reform and provide evidence of the effectiveness of instructional materials, science teaching, and professional development programs.

BSCS (Biological Sciences Curriculum Study) is a leader in the field of science education because of our support for the teaching of evolution, our comprehensive approach to improved science teaching and learning, and our development and implementation of the BSCS 5E Instructional Model.
