Betty is PI of the STeLLA CO2 project. Serving as PI on the project, Betty oversees the many facets of the STeLLA CO2 project. She developed and facilitated the multiple professional learning sessions and institutes of the project. She works closely with the co-PIs as they meet the goals of the project. As a Science Educator at BSCS Science Learning, she has been involved in developing curriculum for multi-year projects as well as small units focusing on the physical sciences. Betty has also developed curriculum for many online, blended, and face-to-face professional learning opportunities for teachers and teacher leaders many of which include STeLLA.
Abe is a Co-PI on the STeLLA CO2 project. As part of this project, he has worked with education faculty, science faculty, and mentor teachers from three Universities to develop a common vision for effective science teaching and learning using the STeLLA Framework and to enhance the coherence of their pre-service science teacher programs. As a Senior Science Educator at BSCS Science Learning, he designs NGSS-aligned instructional materials and professional development programs to promote meaningful science teaching and learning.
As a Senior Research Scientist at BSCS, Cari oversees the research analyses on the STeLLA CO2 project. Her work focuses on the development and evaluation of assessment resources aligned to the NGSS. She currently leads a project aimed at evaluating the validity of middle school three-dimensional assessment tasks. Cari also supported the development of an online professional learning course to support rural teachers in developing five-dimensional assessmentsthat center students’ interest and identity.
Karen is a Senior Research Associate on the STeLLA CO2 project. As such, she worked with many districts and teachers in CO to gain district approval and collect research data for this study. She has worked on several large research projects focused on teacher learning and implementation of the STeLLA framework.

Jon is a project coordinator on the STeLLA CO2 project who provides endless support for the professional learning and research portions of the study. Jon has expertise in technology needs of the project which were vital as the professional learning and research continued through the pandemic.
