Our in-person professional learning institutes are designed for instructional leaders who want to support the effective implementation of the OpenSciEd Program for Elementary Schools.
BSCS invites science consultants, coaches, administrators, teacher leaders and professional development (PD) providers from informal science education to attend our four-day in-person institute.
Institute Dates:
October 14-17, 2025
- Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Time: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. MT
- Grade Bands: K-2 and 3-5
Institute Goals:
- Experience key elements of the OpenSciEd Program for Elementary.
- Deepen understanding of professional learning structures that support curriculum implementation.
- Enhance abilities to use routines, strategies, tools, and processes for enacting phenomenon-based or problem-driven three-dimensional learning experiences.
- Prepare participants to plan and lead Professional Learning for OpenSciEd Elementary.
- Increase confidence and ability to support K-5 teachers implementing high quality science instruction.
