External Evaluation Services
Our work begins and ends with research at BSCS. We have a proven track record of translating insights into powerful science education programs. And we don’t stop there. We engage partners to evaluate the impact of these programs on students, teachers, and leaders across the country.
That’s how we ensure our programs are high quality and effective.
And that’s why we’re uniquely equipped to support other organizations with their own evaluation processes.
Why Evaluation is Important
Maybe you’ve introduced new instructional materials into elementary science classrooms. Or you’ve supported high school physics teachers as they implement a new program designed for the Next Generation Science Standards. Or you’ve prepared district leaders across your state for a significant shift in their K-12 science education systems.
That’s amazing! Innovation is exciting. But it’s not everything. There’s still a lot to figure out. How well is your program working, in which contexts, and for whom? Is your regional program ready to be implemented on a national scale? What can be adjusted to improve your program?
An evaluation partner can help you explore your impact and provide evidence to all members of the education system.
BSCS can be that partner to you. And together, we’ll tackle all your pressing questions.
BSCS External Evaluation Services
Our research and evaluation staff leverage decades of organizational expertise in evaluation design and data analysis to answer the questions that take your work to the next level. We are experienced in each phase of evaluation–from gathering formative evidence for the development of new interventions to effectiveness and efficacy studies to inform decision-makers.
So where do we begin? We work with you to identify the important questions. And then we collaboratively build an evaluation plan based on the best methods and analyses to ensure all of those questions get answered. Our qualitative and quantitative methods will take your questions from “I wonder” to “I have evidence that…”
Our services include:
- Writing proposals to fund evaluation plans
- Leading formative evaluations to inform the improvement of K-college STEM interventions (instructional materials development, professional learning, and leadership development)
- Leading large-scale, multi-site summative evaluation to build evidence of effectiveness
- Developing instruments including assessments, surveys, and observational rubrics
- Consulting district personnel in developing and enacting evaluation plans
While we love to work with our clients from the beginning, sometimes questions arise over the course of development or implementation. We are here to support any phase of your work. Contact us to discuss details and identify the level of evaluation that is right for you.
